Silverstone acted as the 'Building Owners' Party Wall surveyor in respect of a large student residential scheme in Newcastle City Centre on behalf of Kier Property.
It was our job to determine who should receive which notice(s) and who each legal entity was. There were 15 different Party Walls in total with many adjoining owners to liasie with, making it a complex process.
We had to carry out a technical due diligence review of the tender drawings and then request additional information from structural engineers and architects so that any notices served were valid.
Once notices were served we chased up in accordance with statutory timeframes and liasied with surveyors who were acting on behalf of tenants.
We undertook Schedules of Condition and prepared Party Wall Awards with the neighbouring property owners in respect of the proposed new development, which were all agreed individually with each party.
We worked to tight deadlines with the client, sending regular tracker documents so that they were kept informed as to what was happening.
Once the works were complete we met with all parties on site to sign off the works and discharge the Awards.
